Editorial policies
1. Introduction
Body Health Calculator provides free health, nutrition, and fitness calculators that help people interpret numbers and make informed decisions. With 100+ tools covering body composition, metabolism, diabetes, cardiovascular health, sleep, pregnancy, and more, we publish these policies so you know how we build and maintain content you can rely on.
2. Principles
We prioritize four principles across every calculator and article:
- Reliable information. Calculators use peer-reviewed formulas and established clinical methods (Mifflin-St Jeor, US Navy body fat, Friedewald LDL, HOMA-IR, CDC growth charts, ADA glucose standards, and others). Each tool cites primary sources where applicable.
- Continual monitoring and updates. Health and nutrition guidance evolves. We audit calculators regularly and display a visible "Last updated" date on every page. Updates include formula corrections, new FAQ entries, and refreshed references.
- Listening to feedback. Report errors through our contact page. We review submissions and correct inaccuracies promptly.
- Transparent use of AI. Calculator logic and educational prose are written and reviewed by humans. We may use AI tools for grammar and formatting, but formulas, citations, and medical claims are verified against primary sources before publication.
3. Editorial process
Every calculator follows a multi-step workflow:
- Formula selection. We identify the most validated equation or scoring system for the use case and document it on the page.
- Implementation and testing. The algorithm is coded and tested against published examples and edge cases.
- Educational content. Each page includes a direct answer, how-it-works section, FAQs, and numbered references.
- Review. Content is checked for formula accuracy, citation validity, and plain-language clarity.
- Publication. Pages ship with structured data (FAQ schema, breadcrumbs, WebApplication schema) for search and accessibility.
4. Medical disclaimer
Body Health Calculator tools are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for personal health decisions. See our full disclaimer.
