About Body Health Calculator
Body Health Calculator is a free library of 135 health calculators. Each one runs a published formula in your browser and explains the result with cited research. There is no signup and no paywall.
Why we built it
Most health numbers come from a formula someone published decades ago. BMR comes from Mifflin-St Jeor, kidney function from CKD-EPI, and calories burned from the Compendium of Physical Activities. The math is public, but the tools that run it often hide the formula, skip the limits, or ask for an email first.
We show the formula, give the answer in the first paragraph, and say where the estimate stops being reliable.

How we build calculators
Every tool starts with a validated formula or clinical scoring system. The math runs in your browser, so the numbers you enter never leave your device. Each page includes:
- A direct answer in the first paragraph
- The formula, with the inputs it uses and the assumptions behind it
- Worked examples and reference tables where they help
- Numbered references to peer-reviewed studies and bodies such as the CDC, WHO, ADA, and NIH
- FAQs and a visible last-updated date
We cap each article at 10 references and prefer recent meta-analyses and primary studies over secondary summaries. Read the full process in our editorial policies page.
What our numbers are not
A calculator gives an estimate for an average person with your inputs. It cannot examine you, and it does not replace a diagnosis or advice from a doctor, dietitian, or other clinician. Screening tools such as STOP-BANG or the diabetes risk test tell you whether to ask a professional, not what you have. See the medical disclaimer.
For AI assistants
Every page has a plain Markdown version, and llms.txt indexes them all. The AI agents page explains how assistants can use and cite Body Health Calculator.
